However, the team behind "Supernatural" did not reveal what the story in "Dog Dean Afternoon" will be about. Speculations suggest that the title could mean character Dean Winchester will have the ability to transform into a dog or converse with man's best friend.

The TV series' will be bringing back old characters as well like Bobby Singer, the paternal figure to Sam and Dean Winchester, and the red-haired hunter and hacker Charlie Bradbury. Additionally, "Supernatural" Season 9 will focus on Sam and Dean's relationship with expected revelations of secrets that could tear them apart.
"You're going to find Dean, in the beginning of this season, in a slightly different position, one where it's his decision driving great important and weight on their relationship. It's a heavy weight to bear and it has a great effect on their relationship," Executive Producer Jeremy Carver revealed to TVLine.
Sam Winchester, portrayed by actor Jared Padalecki, will survive but becomes sick from the trial during the Season 8 finale and older brother Dean, portrayed by Jensen Ackles, holds the answer on how and why Sam survived. Revealing the secret to Sam may cause a gap between the two, but the Winchester boys are expected to still need each other despite the conflicts and continue on with their fight against evil.
