Microsoft is apparently gearing up to release a successor to the well-received Surface Pro 3 called the Surface Pro 4, later this year. In any case, here is a list of the reported specifications, features and release date information pertaining to the upcoming Surface Pro 4.
In hindsight, when Surface Pro 3 was released, Microsoft reportedly planned to give tougher competition to the Apple MacBook Air. Notably, the Pro 3 is lighter than the Apple device and comes with a brilliant display, in addition to housing up-to-date specifications. Speaking of the Surface Pro 4, the device might just turn out to be one of the best as Intel’s new processer and Windows 10 OS will apparently be part of the device, notes Tech Radar.
Surface Pro 4 Release Date
According to Tech Radar, with the Windows 10 release date set for late fall of 2015, the Surface Pro 4 release date might very well be around the same time. And this Surface device will apparently be the first to run Microsoft's latest Windows 10 OS, straight out of the box.
Surface Pro Mini And Surface Pro 4 Features
Initially it was speculated that, the Surface Pro 4 will come with a 12-inch display. However, Design And Trend says, the upcoming Microsoft device will come in two different sizes: One of them will flaunt a 14-inch display, while the other one i.e. the Surface Pro Mini will sport a screen size between 8.0-inch and 10.1-inch.
When it comes to Surface Pro 4 design, apparently, there’ll be no difference between the predecessor and the successor. Brian Hall, from Microsoft's Surface unit apparently wrote in a blog post that the Surface Pro 3's accessories will be compatible with the Surface Pro 4.
In Hall’s own words, “We are pleased to share that the following Surface Pro 3 accessories are designed with our product roadmap in mind and will be compatible with the next generation of the "Pro" line of Surface: Surface Pro 3 Type Covers, Our “infrastructure” accessories such as our power adapter, Ethernet adapter and more.”
Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by Intel's fifth-generation Core M chips. Plus, the Pro 4 is believed to be thinner than the Pro 3, aided by the new Intel's Broadwell-Y processor unit. And if reports are true, the tablet will have no fan unlike the predecessor, however, the device will retain the compatibility with the Surface line of accessories.
