Aside from the mystery of who "The Benefactor" is in "Teen Wolf" Season 4, another mystery to be focused on in the remaining episodes has something to do with what is happening to Derek Hale. Actor Tyler Hoechlin teased during an interview that Derek losing some powers means his character is slowly turning human.

"He's becoming a little human. It's been a long time coming, though. He's been a pretty terrible Alpha, now he's just kind of like, 'I'm just done with the whole thing.' I think he's going through some interesting stuff, it's going to be a challenge for him," the 26-year-old shared about his character, Derek Hale, in the Clevver News interview.

Derek Hale started to lose his powers after Kate Argent (Jill Wagner) made him go back in time and became a teenager again. In "Teen Wolf" Season 4, Episode 2 titled "117," Derek Hale returned to his present form but his eye colour changed to yellow.

Derek continued to feel the changes that Kate Argent did to him in Episode 4 titled "The Benefactor." This time, Derek lost his powers of catching or sensing the scent of blood when he and Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) found an explosive trap at Beacon Hills High.

When further asked about Derek's transformation in the MTV series, actor Tyler Hoechlin admitted that he compares the situation to the time when he stopped playing baseball. "That was such a huge thing in my life and like an identity for me. When I lost that you go through a weird phase of, 'Who am I without that?'" the actor explained.

Hoechlin thinks his character will try to figure out who he really is when his strength and abilities coming from being a werewolf completely vanishes. At the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, Tyler Hoechlin gave away another interesting detail about his character this Season 4 that will make the Derek fans excited.

In the Hypable interview, Tyler Hoechlin teased that Derek Hale will be having a love interest again. The actor further added that despite the power loss and human transformation, Derek will still help Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack in dealing with their problems like facing their Season 4 enemies.

"Those that can't do, teach," Hoechlin stated. "Teen Wolf" Season 4 returns with Episode 6 titled "Orphaned" on Monday night, July 28, at 10 pm ET on MTV.
