Jai Courtney is all set to play Kyle Reese in “Terminator Genisys.” The actor recently teased some interesting details about his character and added that he does not look back and see how the character has been played before. According to Jai, “he was not hired” to match the previous performance of an actor.

“He’s still a soldier in John Connor’s army fighting the resistance, and he still has the task of saving Sarah Connor, but that’s virtually all that links the two,” he said about his character to Hero Complex. Jai also added that as an actor it is not interesting to and take things from someone else.

“I think there’s archetypal similarities you’ll get with doing a role like that, and you can pluck influence from other actors or other performances, but it certainly wasn’t a concern of mine to try and hit specific things.” In “Terminator Genisys” John Connor will send his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back in the time to save his mother and safeguard his subsistence. Kyle will meet Sarah Connor and they both will have to escape the evil T-800 and T-1000 sent by Skynet.

Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role of T-800 in the film. The actor had hinted in his previous interview that there will be a lot of time travel and his character will age, reported MTV. Terminator’s flesh will age and the film will feature a younger T-800. According to Arnold, the terminator has a metal skeleton underneath and “human flesh above it.” The movie will also reportedly have a lot of twists.

“Terminator Genisys” is scheduled to be released on July 1, 2015. It is the fifth instalment in the "Terminator" series and is said to be a reboot of the series. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier have written it. The film will be set in 2024 and will feature cast members including Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Lee Byung-hun, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, Sandrine Holt, and J. K. Simmons and others. The first trailer of the film was released on Dec. 4.
