Top Gaming Android Apps (August 12, 2013): 'Gentlemen!,' 'Castle Clash,' 'Ice Age Village,' and More
Get ready for another weekend of gaming, this time with adventure game, exploration with RPG, some dots and strategies, a new take on pinball and a Victorian reincarnation of the Mario brothers.
Whip out your Android tablets and smartphones and get these apps on the Google Play Store.
'Gentlemen!'
Play as a tag team, wherein you and a friend can play opposite each other with "Gentlemen!"
From developer Lucky Frame, this game requires you to play it on a tablet - which is pretty standard, considering that there will be two players in one screen.
It's a duel game at its core, with you being at the command of which weapon to wield, as you try to win over the duel as a gentleman would.
"Gentlemen!" really brings out the tension and the fun of duels, with our characters trying to go at it while you're forced to one-up your opponent by having the better technique, knowledge or know-how.
'Castle Clash'
"Castle Clash" is a free-to-play fantasy game that really brings to mind Zelda, though a female version wielding arrows.
It has been rated to be part of the top 10 games in the U.S. as well as the #1 strategy game on the Android. The game also features pretty impressive graphics to boot, so it's fun to play and look at.
Some of the game features you will enjoy include building and improving your fortress, creating your own army, taking part in realistic battles, going against other players in the Arena with your best heroes in tow and casting powerful spells with tap and swipe combinations.
It's an adventure game that puts you at the very helm of playing it, and one that you will enjoy for all that you can do and all that it offers.
'Ice Age Village'
Sid, Manny, Diego and Ellie are back for more in Gameloft's official "Ice Age" app game. You have an entire "Ice Age" universe to go through, bringing in missions and quests, where you can find your favorite characters or play mini games with everyone's favorite, Scrat.
Aside from going on missions, you can also build a village for the animals, find new species and go on daily challenges to give your village even more life and activity.
You can even get your friends from Facebook and Gameloft Live to take play. Visit their villages, take care of them and even get rewards.
'Momonga Pinball Adventures'
Ever played pinball and got addicted to it? Then you're in for an even more addictive time with "Momonga Pinball Adventures" from Paladin Studios.
Go through different worlds, team up with friends to defeat enemies and save the momongas from the evil owls.
It's a pinball game in the sense that you will maneuver Momo the flying squirrel as you go through different levels. You even have a storyline that you can enjoy because Momo isn't saving his kind just out of a whim.
There's a Great War, a Guardian Council, their very own continent of Aya, the Shadow Species as well as Momo's ragtag of friends, Fry the firefly, Panda the panda, and Guaka the molerat.
'Dots: A Game About Connecting'
What do you get when you take the concept (more or less) of that made the likes of "Bejeweled" and even "Candy Crush Saga" and combine it with the time pressure you get from the likes of "2Fuse"? You get "Dots: A Game About Connecting."
Playdots, Inc.'s game title pretty much says it all because that's all you have to do. You will have to deal with colourful dots, and to get rid of them, you will have to connect dots of the same colour, all in the span of 60 seconds.
A new mode, which is an untimed mode, has just been released so you can easily plan your strategies on how to go about the game. The Multiplayer mode is also available, where you can challenge your friends to see just who has the best strategy.
