Top iOS Game Apps of the Week (August 12): Injustice: Gods Among Us (with Hack), Fast & Furious 6: The Game, Mikey Hooks
Start off and get through the week with these brand new entries into the iTunes as well as new updates from two big title games.
You can look forward to the sequel of a 2012 favorite, a stupefying puzzler-physics game, a battle combat strategy game, and updates from superhero favorite Injustice: God Among Us and the game version of Fast & Furious 6.
Injustice: Gods Among Us
Technically, Warner Bros' iOS accompanying game to NetherRealm Studios hit console game has been in the iTunes App Store for quite some time, but the developers just seem bent on updating it with many more challenges.
As previously announced by @InjusticeGame, the General Zod challenge has already been announced, but according to the App Store page, it will only be available for a limited time only.
The 1.5.1 version update also features the Challenge Mode rewards, now made available worldwide. The update also hints at the fact that the Batgirl Challenge, which was also time-limited, has now been removed.
Also coming in hot with the version update is a new hack, from AppleGuider, on how to get unlimited power credits, for iOS device owners that have been jailbroken.
According to the report, you just have to download the hack from AppleGuider after downloading the latest version of INJUSTICE. Once you have this, unzip the file, then copy the file UDKGame using iFunbox or iTools to var/mobile/Applications/Injustice/UDKGame.app/.
Overwrite any of the existing files in the folder, set the permissions to 777 to the UDKGame with iFile, then reboot your device to get started on playing.
Puddle
A new release from Neko Entertainment, Puddle is a game where you will be making use of tilting instead of swiping motions to get through the levels.
Taking physics, liquids, and a steady hand into consideration, the game's main point is for you to get through the obstacles using just tilting motions with as few spillage of the liquid as possible.
You'll be playing with water, oily, nitroglycerin, and even molten lava, while also making estimates in your head--because you have to take into consideration the friction, gravity, and temperature of the environment you are playing on.
Puddle is currently sold at a 40% special discount price at a limited time offer, so you can get it for only $2.99 at the iTunes App Store.
Champs: Battlegrounds
Action, strategy, and real-time combat--those are just some of the themes that you can enjoy with Champs: Battlegrounds, the newest game from Quark Games, Inc.
Here you will be in charge of a squad, from building your troops to leading battles against other players.
Some of the features include tactical battlegrounds requiring strategy for bigger chances of victory, squad strategy so you can form your army, campaign mode with different difficult scenarios for training, and upgrade options to boost your army's power.
Best of all, this is a free app, so you can battle on with no charge, even when you challenge any of your friends in a player vs. player gameplay experience.
Mikey Hooks
A fitting follow-up to one of the most well-received games of 2012, Mikey Hooks is now adding more pressure aside from the perpetually running clock.
The main difference from Mikey Shorts is in the very title itself, as a grappling hook has been added as transition mechanisms. All the fluidity and enjoyment of controlling the game via touch is pretty much the same as what hailed its predecessor into the fourth best game of last year.
In this game, which is almost a Mario for the iOS, the side-scroller now features hooks and spiked platforms that put an extra challenge to the game.
You can enjoy 24 story mode levels with an additional 12 for racing, all set in six unique environments. You also have 220 fun disguises and the chance to race against ghosts, as well as compete with your friends on Game Center.
Mikey Hooks is currently available on the iTunes for $1.99.
Fast & Furious 6: The Game
Kabam's game, which is supposedly a complementary to the sixth installment of the movie franchise, gets a new update, designed to bring several new features, the most exciting of which is the online races.
Now you can accept challenges and put together winning streaks so that you can easily earn big time XP and Respect Points. The version 2.0.0 update also gives you new customizations, which are basically new vinyl and decals for a slicker ride.
There are also Game Center Challenges where you can test your driving skills, as well as four new cars which are authentic reproductions of Hero cars from the Fast & Furious 6. If you haven't downloaded the game yet, it is offered on iTunes for free.
