Twitter users mock Melania Trump on her anti-cyber bullying speech
Melania Trump campaign speech addresses anti-cyber bullying
Melania Trump gave another rare speech at a Pennsylvania campaign rally on Thursday. Although she did not get in trouble this time due to a plagiarised speech, social media users criticised her on her stand on cyberbullying."
"It is never OK when a 12-year-old girl or boy is mocked, bullied, or attacked. It is terrible when that happens on the playground." Melania said in her speech." And it is absolutely unacceptable when it is done by someone with no name hiding on the Internet.
"We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other. We must find better ways to honor and support the basic goodness of our children, especially in social media. It will be one of the main focuses of my work if I’m privileged enough to become your First Lady."
But instead of praising Melania, Donald Trump's critics asked if she has read her husband's tweets. They even asked her if she has actually met him.
Hercules Mulligan, a Twitter user, even shared a previous post of her husband, noting that the presidential candidate was the bully that she talked about in her speech.
ABC News political analyst Matthew Dowd and CNN anchor Dana Bash commented on the aspiring first lady's speech.
The New York Times compiled a list of 282 people, places and things Donald Trump has insulted on Twitter, many of those in the list were called names and apparently cyber-bullied by Trump himself.
