Ubisoft’s new domain name ‘Assassin’s Creed Collection’ sparks speculations
Ubisoft has registered a domain name called “Assassin’s Creed Collection.” However, the publisher has not specified what the domain entails, sparking speculation that the game developer is giving remaster treatment to a few or all of its titles under the “Assassin’s Creed” series. It looks like Ubisoft is planning to bring all the previous games to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and for Windows PC.
According to a post shared by NeoGaf, Ubisoft has bought the domain “Assassin’s Creed Collection” under its nameserver. The website is not currently active, but it is expected that the developer will be bringing it into action.
There are many reports coming from different sources and many of these reports hint the next big move by Ubisoft. There are some reports that suggest, Ubisoft is packaging some titles from the old series as one. If these reports are something to go by, it is very clear to everyone that “Assassin’s Creed” series has plenty of content that can be packaged as a bundle.
Many people are already speculating what kind of collection it will be, but there are chances that Ubisoft has just booked the domain to protect the franchise’s IP. According to VG247 a collection was to be released; so chances are that this collection will include titles like “Assassin’s Creed,” “Assassin’s Creed II,” and “Assassin’s Creed III.” Ubisoft might be looking for a way to bring these previous generation titles on current generation console systems
This month, Ubisoft announced two brand new games in the “Assassin’s Creed” Chronicles series. It has also announced plans to release the whole trilogy on PS4, Xbox One, PC and PS Vita as a full bundle. On the other side, previous generation consoles also have “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations” and “Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood” which were released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC as well.
While the website is not active yet, it doesn’t confirm that Ubisoft is planning on releasing such collection of games. If Ubisoft’s plan push through, this will not come as a shock, as the franchise already has a number of titles. In the recent gaming trend, there are many other games that have also been presented in collections, the likes of “Rare Replay” and the “Uncharted” series.
