This Thursday “Under the Dome” returns with two-hour premiere episodes of Season 3. The latest buzz is about the surprising alliance between Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) and Big Jim (Dean Norris). It is a shocking development after what happened in the previous season’s finale.

After the death of his wife Pauline (Sherry Stringfield), Big Jim wanted to finish off the friends of the dome, including Julia. He killed Andrea (Dale Raoul) at her cabin and Julia managed to escape by stabbing him on the foot with a knife. And later in the woods, Junior shot his father in the shoulder, helping Julia to run towards the tunnel.

“Two characters who have been mortal enemies become grudging allies this season,” Neal Baer, creator of “Under the Dome,” told TV Guide. They team up because of a “huge reason,” and according to Baer, the two will not become “bosom buddies” but are going to “become allies against everyone."

They are forming the alliance to fight the enemy within the dome. Baer revealed that the theme of the season is about “struggling to live under the dome and fight the enemy within. And it's not Big Jim." He also said that Julia will start believing that Big Jim may probably be right when he says that she is wrong about dome being there to protect them.

Meanwhile, the first two premiere episodes of “Under the Dome” Season 3 are “Move On” and “But I’m Not.” The Dome is set to finally reveal its real agenda and new residents are going to surface, according to the synopsis of the premiere episodes. It also reveals that the new season opens with the “residents of Chester’s Mill appearing both inside and outside the Dome following their evacuation into the tunnels beneath the town.”

“Under the Dome” Season 2 finale saw Barbie (Mike Vogel) donning the role of a leader to get everyone out while Julia was unable to join him because of the wide chasm on the floor of the tunnel. The episode ended with Melanie (Grace Victoria Cox) appearing on the other side of the tunnel and saying, “Follow me. We're going home.”
