The CW promo video for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 mid-season finale teases an exciting episode that viewers can look forward to. Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) are in trouble and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) must do something in order to save them from the evil plan of Dr Wes Maxfield (Rick Cosnett).

The promo video in the Hollywood Hills report shows the intense upcoming Episode 10 titled "Fifty Shades of Grayson" where Stefan threatens Dr Maxfield that he will kill Aaron (Shaun Sipos) while the doctor threatens back on harming Elena. Dr Maxfield will be revealing to Elena all of Whitmore College's dark secrets including his ultimate objective.

The WetPaint report suggests Dr Maxfield's confession will shock Elena because of the involvement of her father, Grayson Gilbert. Furthermore, it appears the evil doctor will still let Enzo (Michael Malarkey), his secret weapon, lose to make Damon Salvatore continue to deal with his dark past.

It looks like Stefan Salvatore will have no hesitation whatsoever in killing Aaron if Elena gets hurt under the hands of Dr Wes Maxfield in the "Fifty Shades of Grayson" promo video. According to the Examiner report, Aaron only has limited knowledge when it comes to vampires but he must not mess around with Stefan since the "Ripper" declared he is figuring out how to kill him.

The video showed as well an upset Stefan Salvatore pinning Aaron against the wall with his hands gripping his throat while fishing for information. Will Elena be saved before Dr Maxfield conducts horrendous experiments on her?

The episode synopsis reads: "DAMON'S PAST RETURNS TO HAUNT HIM - Damon realizes Elena is in danger and enlists Stefan's help to find her. The brothers pay a visit to Aaron, and Damon shocks Stefan by revealing his first-hand knowledge of Aaron's family. In an attempt to stop Damon, Dr. Wes unleashes his secret weapon, forcing Damon to deal with a part of his past he thought was gone forever, as well as the consequences of his decades-long plan for revenge. Meanwhile, Elena is horrified by Dr. Wes' confessions about the dark history of Whitmore College and his own ultimate goal. Finally, a frantic Katherine turns to Matt for help, until she realizes that Nadia may be the one who can solve her problem."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 10 "Fifty Shades of Grayson" is scheduled to air on Thursday night, December 12, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW network.
