Viral video shows touching moment of father comforting his son after Paris terror attacks
The utterly odious terror attacks in Paris that left 129 people dead and scores of others injured took the battle against terrorism to another level. While countries gear up in unison to deliver a strong reply to the atrocities carried out in open, a simple yet moving conversation between a father and son in Paris has done a great deal to ease down the deepest of fears that surfaced over the last few days.
The short conversation between the duo, in which the father reassures his son that they would not have to leave France as it is still their home, has gone viral over the Internet and was shared over 11 million times on Facebook since it was uploaded on YouTube on Monday.
The father and son had come to the Bataclan theatre, where maximum number of people were killed in Saturday’s attacks, to offer flowers in tribute to the victims. The father, who later identified himself as Angel Le, was explaining to his son why people have gathered to offer flowers and light candles and how the good wishes will protect all from the “bad guys.”
When the little boy Brandon was asked by a reporter whether he understood what happened, he replied he did and that they would have to leave Paris now because there were bad guys around. To this his father assured him that he need not have to be worried because Paris is their home. But the child reasoned out, saying the bad guys have guns and can shoot them. Le comforted his child by saying that the flowers that the people have offered at the site would protect them all from the mean people.
"It's OK, they might have guns but we have flowers,” Le, who is of Vietnamese origin but now lives in Paris, told his son. When the boy said that flowers don’t do anything, Le assured him that they do. “Of course they do. Look, everyone is putting flowers. It's to fight against guns,” Le said, adding that the candles were “to remember the people who are gone yesterday."
His words not only comforted the little child but even adults across the globe. The little boy smiled back at his father at the end of the video, apparently feeling better after his father’s reassurance.
