Wallet-Friendly ‘Samsung Galaxy Core Max’ Comes With 4.8-Inch Super AMOLED Display, Dual-SIM Support And More
The South Korean conglomerate Samsung has introduced a new smartphone dubbed the Galaxy Core Max. Apparently, this is the eighth handset in the Galaxy Core line of smartphones and it is debuting in China.
The Galaxy Core Max is tied to the model number SM-G5108 and this device is bigger than other smartphones in the Galaxy Core series. However, this handset is relatively smaller when compared to other flagships released in 2014. Plus, Samsung is marketing this handset as a mid-range device, says Phone Arena.
When it comes to key specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Core Max features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, complemented by 540 x 960 pixels resolution. According to Samsung, the colour on the handset is more vivid and the images are brighter in areas with bright light or even with low light settings. Plus, the phone size helps in providing comfortable grip and viewing experience. The device runs on Android v4.4 KitKat OS along with TouchWiz UI on top of it.
The handset is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and backed by 1 GB of RAM. Speaking of size, this Samsung device weighs 132 g and it is 8 mm thick. Plus, the handset comes equipped with 8 GB of internal storage capacity with microSD card support. There is also an 8 MP wide-angle primary camera unit along with a good 5 MP secondary snapper for selfies. On battery, there is a modest 2200 mAh unit powering the device.
Apart from the standard connectivity options, the Galaxy Core Max handset also supports 2G/3G/4G LTE. In addition, this device is a dual-SIM variant. Interestingly Samsung will offer this handset only in white hue. On pricing and availability, Samsung has not quoted the price of the Galaxy Core Max and there is no word on the release date outside China at this point. But as mentioned earlier, this is a mid-range device.
