Washington labelled terrorist admits to getting arms from Russia, Moscow cooperates with Israel
Lebanese Hezbollah field commanders claimed that Russia is arming the group with heavy weapons. Nonetheless, doubts over the reported interdependence are also surfacing as Moscow and Israel push forward with their cooperation.
A new report from The Daily Beast claims that Lebanese Hezbollah field commanders admitted to receiving heavy weapons from Moscow. The troops of the mentioned commanders are fighting in Syria, but the supposed scsupply of weapons has no strings attached. The commanders also discussed about complete coordination happening between Russia, Assad regime in Damascus, Iran and Hezbolla. Furthermore, the group also suggested that there is an increasing interdependence between it and Russia.
Hezbollah is a terrorist group according to the European Union and the United states on the grounds of serving Terhan's interests and its global reach.
“We are strategic allies in the Middle East right now—the Russians are our allies and give us weapons,” explained Commander Bakr - one of the group's officers. He also noted that Russia's airstrikes in Syria made ground war easier for them.
Nonetheless, according to a report from YNET, Middle Eastern and Western officials are rejecting the report from Daily Beast. The officials said that Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu that prohibits such.
"This report is baseless. This is an awkward attempt by Hezbollah to plant disinformation via a respected Western news site in order to muddy the waters between Israel and Russia," insisted the officials.
As mentioned, the claims of the Hezbollah commanders contradict the terms of agreement made between Russia and Israel in September. Later on, it was implied that the agreement already had a green light preventing any military escalation on the northern border entirely. This not just applicable in Syria but also in other countries linked to radical Shi'ite axis led by Iran. Russia has become an ally and has been instant dialogue. Moscow has yet to address the reports.
