'Watch Dogs' Coming to the Wii U on Fall 2014, ESRB Re-rating and Cheat Codes Discussed
When "Watch Dogs" was finally confirmed for its final release date of May 27, it failed to mention the inclusion of the Wii U in the platforms releasing on that date.
As it turns out, it seems that the "Watch Dogs" Wii U version will not be coming in at the same time as the others, but the final release date has not yet been confirmed by Ubisoft.
Now, a time frame has been suggested by no less than Ubisoft's official store and has limited Wii U owners' waiting time to fall 2014. Polygon reports that this listing is active on the Uplay marketplace and has allegedly even been confirmed by a Ubisoft rep.
Hopefully, the release date window is, at the very least, true, so that those who are expecting the "Watch Dogs" game on the Wii U won't be left out too far behind.
No Cheat Codes Coming for 'Watch Dogs'
In most cases, every time a game would come out, it would automatically have accompanying cheat codes released either a few days after the release date or even before that.
But it seems that "Watch Dogs" has been confirmed that it will not have any cheat codes. This has already been confirmed by creative director Jonathan Morin, reports GameSpot.
Perhaps the main reason here is that the point of the game is to make use of hacks to progress in the game, which can be considered a cheat in itself since the hacks do change the gameplay in some ways.
New Rating Given by the ESRB
In the time that "Watch Dogs" was delayed, it appears that there have been a number of changes that merit a revision of the previous rating given to it by the ESRB.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the change seems to be drastic enough, as it was changed from containing descriptions pertaining to "partial nudity," "sexual themes" and "alcohol" to the stronger "nudity," "sexual content" and "use of drugs and alcohol."
Could this possibly be the reason for the delay of "Watch Dogs"? Gamers will have to see what the stronger mature content would do for the game, if it serves as an enhancement to the world of "Watch Dogs" or just a distractor to provide shock and set a grimmer tone.
