Ariana Grande has ditched her signature, high pony tail look and revealed what her real hair looks like. The 22-year-old singer took to Instagram to post a series of pictures that show her natural, healthy, dark curls with tiny French braids on the sides.

“Peekaboo healthy curls long time no see,” Grande captioned the picture, which showed her posing with her natural hair. The singer had kept her natural hair hidden with hair extensions for a long time because of the intense hair damage she suffered during her Nickelodeon days.

The former Disney star previously had to dye her hair red every alternate week because of her role in the series, “Sam and Cat.” “I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat... as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair,” Grande wrote on her Facebook page in January, last year.

“My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down,” she added.

The singer also posted a funny video where she compared her curly hair with her pet Ophelia's hair. “Ophelia we match!!!!!!!!!!!!” she captioned the video.

The “Problem” singer has earned good reviews for her new, natural look. Grande's picture of curly hair has been liked by 1.3 million fans and most of the comments on her Instagram page are positive.

The songstress is gearing up for the Oct. 30 release of her next single, "Focus." She was also in news after her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she mimicked some of the famous singers, including Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
