WWE 2K16' news: Stardust takes on Goldust, DLC corrections
“WWE 2K16” comes out by the end of this month, so the developers in 2K Games have decided to release another gameplay video to entice fans, this one featuring a singles match between two siblings: Goldust and Stardust. A match between the two siblings has been considered a dream Wrestlemania match for fans, so it’s a fun choice in the part of the developers.
The four-minute video showcases plenty of new moves from the Rhodes brothers. Stardust has his inverted Jawbreaker from the corner as a signature move and a unique Reverse STO as his finishing move. Goldust has a new version of his “Final Cut” finishing move and a newly reanimated Complete Shot, which looks much better than last year’s version.
Power Up Gaming has also pointed out the three man commentary booth is in action during the match, with the ending of the video having JBL hilariously break the fourth wall. The former WWE Champion states that Goldust moves like a character in a video game with a cheat code, than thinks out loud and wonders if it was okay to mention the comment.
Speaking of Goldust, 2K Games have recently made a correction regarding the downloadable content coming to the game in the official “WWE 2K16” forums. The match that was hyped to be Larry Zbysko vs Arn Anderson is actually a tag team match in WCW featuring the team of Larry Zybysko and Arn Anderson taking on Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes, the real name and identity of Goldust.
For those wondering why Stardust’s alter ego Cody Rhodes isn’t in the game, 2K had actually asked WWE if they could add him, but weren’t given permission to do so. The reason for this is because the Stardust persona is fairly recent and the company doesn’t want to mix alternate personas with current superstars and divas, unless they’ve been around for a while. This is why Dustin Rhodes can be a DLC character, while Cody Rhodes has to be omitted.
“WWE 2K16” will be coming out on Oct. 27 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Fans can pre-order a retail copy to get access to the Terminator as a playable character in the game. Those that pre-order the digital deluxe version can gain instant access to the $24.99 season pass, which grants players access to all of the DLC.
