'WWE 2K16' Will Include An NXT Diva And Multiple Legends

Four additional superstars have been leaked for the upcoming “WWE 2K16” video game, which will supposedly have the biggest roster ever seen in any WWE game. The leak reportedly came from GameStop Italy, where the site revealed the five superstars, most of who are legends in the WWE – one who is the current subject of racial controversy, while the last one is a female wrestler from the NXT brand of the million dollar company.

According to Gamezone these superstars are Triple H, The Rock, Andre the Giant and NXT diva Alexa Bliss. While the first three superstars have been in previous WWE games, “WWE 2K16” will be the debut game for Bliss, whose presence seems to indicate that NXT will be making a larger impression in the game’s roster this year.

Bliss joins current NXT champion Finn Balor as the first two confirmed superstars from the NXT brand for “WWE 2K16.” Last year, “WWE 2K15” introduced five NXT superstars: Sami Zayn, Corey Graves, Adrian Neville, Rusev and Bo Dallas. It seems “WWE 2K16” will be increasing the number of superstars, with rumours stating that hot NXT prospect Samoa Joe might join the game as a downloadable character.

These four superstars join WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, “King of the Ring” winner Bad News Barret, Paige and Stone Cold Steve Austin as the only confirmed superstars so far. Popular wrestlers like the current United States Heavyweight Champion John Cena, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker are expected to be in the game as well.

If there were anything shocking about the game’s roster, it would have been the original inclusion of Hulk Hogan, who has been the subject of controversy as of late. Cageside Seats has reported on the legend saying racial slurs on a sex tape, which led to his firing and removal of any mention of Hogan from WWE’s main website. The only time the WWE has ever done this was when Chris Benoit murdered his family and then committed suicide.

Polygon has reported that Hulk Hogan will no longer be in the game due to the controversy. It seems like the icon was originally going to be in the game, but the recent racial controversy has forced 2K to remove the character.

“WWE 2K16” will be out on Oct. 27 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. With the game reportedly having the biggest roster ever, it will be interesting to see who makes the cut this year.
