‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Bryan Singer Teases The Birth Of New Characters
Bryan Singer recently sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly where he revealed some interesting details about “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The movie director also remarked how the sequel could actually pave way for the birth of new and young mutants.
In the latest Comic-con issue of Entertainment Weekly, Bryan Singer described “X-Men: Apocalypse” as the “true birth of the X-Men.” According to Comic Book Movie, the director considered the sequel as “something of a finale of the six films that came before and a chapter that will give birth to the true X-Men.”
"This is kind of a conclusion of six X-Men films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters,” Singer said. “This is how it happens,” he added.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” will show the enemies Professor Xavier and Magneto join forces to defeat the titular villain and save mankind. In his interview, Bryan Singer teases that this event marks the emergence of the true X-Men.
Entertainment Weekly also shared a glimpse at what could be Apocalypse’s resting place. The concept art features a pyramid carved with hieroglyphics and ancient ornaments. It also shows some men trying to break into the villain mutant’s tomb.
Bryan Singer has also taken to social media to share updates on the production of “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The director has been sharing Instagram photos to tease some behind-the-scenes look at the film. Just recently he shared a set photo of what appears to be Apocalypse star Oscar Isaac’s chair. The word “Apocalypse” is printed on the chair and Singer captioned the image, “Today! #Xmen #apocalypse awakens.”
The movie director also shared his photo and captioned it, “Felt like a late night post” along with the hash tags #Xmen and #apocalypse. In the image Singer is standing in front of what appears to be a control panel with his arms spread out wide and palms facing upward.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is a mixture of returning mutants including Professor X (James MacAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). It also debuts the younger versions of core X-Men characters Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Jubilee (Lana Condor) and Nightcrawler (Kodi-Smit McPhee).
