‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Rose Byrne Talks New 'Cool' Costumes For Moira MacTaggert
Rose Byrne recently shared some details about her character’s costume in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The actress will reprise her role as CIA Agent Moira MacTaggert.
The actress briefly talked about her character in “X-Men: Apocalypse” while promoting her new action comedy film “Spy.” In an interview with MTV News, Rose Byrne gave a tease as to what fans should expect to see Moira MacTaggert wear in the films 1980’s setting.
“I’ve got a little bit of a great high pant thing happening,” she revealed, when asked how she feels about the 80’s style in her character’s costume. The actress further said that she liked having the “strong shoulder” look for Moira MacTaggert’s wardrobe choices. Although Rose Byrne admitted loving the 1980s, she also revealed that she’s “not a fan of the weird negligee under the blouse look.”
Rose Byrne also commented on how the 80’s look exists nowadays and could easily be bought from Marc Jacobs. The actress didn’t really go into detail what type of costume her character, Moira MacTaggert, will wear in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” But she did assure that her character will have several “cool looks” in the film.
According to Cinema Blend, considering her profession the CIA agent could be wearing “an updated design of the spy suit she wore when Xavier, Magneto, and the First Class team went to stop Sebastian Shaw.”
The last time Rose Byrne’s Moira MacTaggert was seen was in “X-Men: First Class” when her memories were wiped clean by Professor Xavier in order to protect his school. As a result, the character didn’t return to “X-Men: Days of Future Past” since she had no recollection of the team’s whereabouts.
Details to Moira MacTaggert’s role in “X-Men: Apocalypse” have yet to be disclosed. Whether the CIA Agent has a big importance in the sequel is still uncertain. She played an important role in “First Class” as being the woman who recruited Professor Xavier. Per Cinema Blend she was also briefly introduced as Professor X’s love interest. But director Bryan Singer reportedly confirmed that because of the memory wipe, she would practically consider the “X-Men” as strangers.
