‘X-Men: Apocalypse' Set Photo Teases Another Memorable Quicksilver Scene
Bryan Singer has been using social media to update his fans on the production of “X-Men: Apocalypse.” On his latest Instagram post, the director teased that viewers may once again see another awesome Quicksilver scene in the sequel, much like the kitchen scene in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
The movie director shared a photo from the set of “X-Men: Apocalypse” and captioned it with, “Just another day at the office.” Bryan Singer also added the hash tags #Xmen and #XmenApocalypse. His post has since received over nine thousand likes since he shared it on Thursday, June 11.
Although Quicksilver star Evan Peters is nowhere to be seen in the photo, it’s apparent the scene being filmed is for his character. Bryan Singer also captioned the photo with the hash tag #Quicksilver. According to Comic Book Resources, the director was giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the speedster’s slow-motion effect is filmed for “X-Men: Apocalypse.” From the photo, three of the casts dressed in the 80s are being dangled off the ground using the wires hooked to their back and legs.
Comic Book Movie noted how the set up was meant to show a scene showing the repercussions that happen when one bumps into Quicksilver. “It would follow that the guys hanging around on the wires have just had a very close encounter with the super-fast mutant,” writer Mark Cassidy said.
Bryan Singer didn’t reveal any more details about the set photo. But according to Cassidy, the scene hints Quicksilver may be “up to his old tricks” again in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The director may have supposedly teased another possible highlight in the film involving Quicksilver, much like the kitchen scene in “Days of Future Past.”
Evan Peters reportedly catapulted into stardom because of his role as Quicksilver in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Among his very minimal scenes in the movie, the one that stood out was that scene where he rescues Magneto from prison. The combination of humour and the technicality at which the mutant's speed power was captured on film was enough to have viewers rave about the scene after they’ve watched the movie. If Bryan Singer’s latest set photo is anything to go by, then it seems fans may once again have another memorable Quicksilver sequence to talk about in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
