Bryan Singer recently teased another possible weapon for Sophie Turner in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The director took to social media to hint that aside from her telepathic powers, the younger version of Jean Grey may also be using a bow as her secondary weapon.

Bryan Singer has been using his Instagram page to update fans on the production of “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Recently, the director shared a short video where it shows him teaching Sophie Turner (young Jean Grey) how to shoot using the bow and arrow. He captioned the clip, “Found the play back #Xmen #XmenApocalypse.”

It appears as if Singer was following a moving target. Sophie Turner could be seen in the background paying close watch as Bryan carefully aimed. Reading from the actress’ lips, it’s obvious the director was able to perform a marvellous job at archery. Sophie Turner was clearly impressed based on what she said, “That was amazing.”

The director also shared a photo taken from the same video and captioned it, “Teaching young #JeanGrey @sophiet what I learned in summer camp.” The hash tags #Xmen and #XmenApocalypse were also added.

Bryan Singer didn’t reveal any details about the video or the photo that may hint the importance of archery to Jean Grey. However, according to Cinema Blend writer Adam Holmes, the behind-the-scenes tease may have something to do with another “X-Men: Apocalypse” set photo he shared last month.

The photo reveals a group of uniformed men out in the forest armed with bows and arrows. A little girl is also standing among the men. Bryan Singer didn’t provide any details except for the caption, “The past catches up. #Xmen #XMenApocalypse.”

“At the time, we speculated that these men might be hunting Magneto as a child or an adult in the film’s primary setting of 1983. Since regular guns and most modern weaponry are useless against his metal manipulating powers, they would need to rely on primitive weaponry to take him down,” Holmes said.

Bamsmackpow added that perhaps Sophie Turner learning archery is just another way to show how Jean Grey is still trying to develop her telepathic powers in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” She is supposedly still perfecting her powers by learning to bend the path of the arrow.
