Xbox One April System Update Rolling Out With New Hub Links And What’s On; Deals With Gold Feature ‘Forza Horizon 2’
The Xbox One April System Update is finally out for the public. This month, there are four major additions to the Xbox One, as announced by Major Nelson in his blog.
First and foremost, there are some major party chat improvements coming. Expect new notifications and icons that will better enhance the party chat experience. The actual app itself will enable the microphone and guide users in cases wherein communication with other party members may be blocked by network issues or some privacy settings on the Xbox One.
Xbox One owners will now be notified via the activity feed on their friends’ activities. Easier navigation via the game hub is also enabled, as it will now be easy to get back to a game hub via the activity feed, game achievements, clips and screenshots. Related to achievement notifications, the descriptions of earned achievements will now be displayed without having to open the achievements app.
U.S., U.K. and Canada Xbox One owners can also expect the What’s On area to make its debut. This is basically an additional feature to complement the OneGuide. It makes it easier for Xbox One users to find entertainment and gaming content and clips that are trending.
On the subject of the Xbox One April firmware update, Microsoft has also added one more feature for Xbox One owners in China. According to Gamepur, there is now the option to remove the Region Lock on the next-gen console.
The source states that Microsoft has not yet announce officially the removal of the Region Lock, as well as what it entails. But the removal of the Region Lock, in general, will mean that players can play Xbox One titles that are shipped from anywhere in the world. For Xbox One owners in China, this can mean that they will no longer be limited only to Chinese servers for games.
Speaking of games, Microsoft has also announced the Deals with Gold for the week. This time, “Forza Horizon 2” will be taking center stage for the Xbox One. According to DualShockers, there are three different editions of the title at varying discount prizes. These include the “Forza Horizon 2” Digital Edition at 20% and the Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition, both at 30%. For those who want to get the Car Pass, the add-on is discounted at 50%.
Xbox 360 players are not left out, as there are a number of titles up for grabs for as much as 50% and 67% discount. Some of the titles include “Samurai Showdown Sen,” “Metal Slug XX,” “Serious Sam” titles and “The King of Fighters.” The full list of titles can be seen in this link here, along with their corresponding discounts.
