Xbox One bundle brings free game to holiday buyers as EA teases possible backward compatibility with service
With the holidays nearing and the newest November update already out for the Xbox One, there are more reasons to be part of the console’s community. Microsoft appears to be making an extra push to entice more to get the Xbox One.
For the entire week, Microsoft is holding an offer to throw in a free game for getting an Xbox One. From now until Nov. 21, a free game will be included in an Xbox One purchase, even those that are already in a bundle, GameSpot reported. This is offered all over the United States, encompassing different retailers like Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Gamestop and, of course, the Microsoft Store.
This is the high time for Xbox fans to get into the Xbox One. Apart from the newly released “Halo 5: Guardians” and “Fallout 4,” there are other titles slated to debut on Microsoft’s next-gen console come next year.
Just recently, Electronic Arts appears to be considering backward compatibility for its Xbox One exclusive service, the EA Access. Over at the official EA Access Twitter page, a fan had mentioned that backward compatibility is already available for the Xbox One.
Adding to this, the fan had asked if this could hint at the possibility of Xbox 360 games coming to the EA vault for the Xbox One. The publisher’s response was very hopeful, to say the least. According to EA, fans should stay tuned for the possibility.
“We’re investigating adding backwards compatible EA games to EA Access in the future,” said EA via the EA Access Twitter account.
Games are not the only things that make the Xbox One inviting during the holidays. Now that the New Xbox One Experience is already out for the general public, Microsoft is providing a few more incentives for the new update.
Major Nelson announced over his official blog that one of the new features for the November system update is the ability to easily create custom backgrounds. This has made the earlier feature customisation feature even easier, as a new Photoshop template has also been released for easier background customisation. Now, Xbox One fans only need to download the template, which is just a 7MB file to start creating Xbox One backgrounds.
