Xbox One Bundle Price Cuts Compete With PS4, New Free Game Announced, ‘GTA: San Andreas’ For Xbox 360 Confirmed
Almost a year ago, the PS4 had a big offer that the Xbox One could not overturn: a lower price tag. However, for the holidays, Microsoft has done yet another price cut on its next-gen console, which has, for the first time, put it in a very competitive position against the PS4.
Announced over the Xbox Wire, Microsoft is now pushing for the new holiday savings that future Xbox One owners can enjoy. Starting on Nov. 2, the Xbox One will be offered at $349 in the U.S., which slashes off $50 from specific bundles.
These bundles include the special editions featuring "Assassin's Creed Unity," "Sunset Overdrive" and "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare." Overall, these will bring savings of up to $150 for the holiday season.
"We're offering our best price yet, with unprecedented choices and value, so more people can play on Xbox One this holiday," Microsoft corporate VP Yusuf Mehdi said over at the Xbox Wire. "We're gearing up for one of our biggest holidays ever and we are thrilled to offer fans up to $150 in savings on Xbox One and some of the biggest blockbuster games of the season."
The Xbox One price cut will be available in a number of retailers in the U.S., including Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Toys 'R Us, Walmart and Microsoft Stores. The offer is only until Jan. 3, 2015, so if you have been waiting for the lowest price that the Xbox One can offer, this may be it.
'Dead or Alive 5' Coming To Xbox One For Free
Beyond the holidays, there's more to look forward to for the Xbox One platform. One of these is a free version of Tecmo and Team Ninja's "Dead or Alive 5," which has been confirmed to debut on the Xbox One on Feb. 17, 2015.
According to OXM, this is already announced for North America and will be bringing in four fighters, namely, Ayane, Hayate, Ryu Hayabusa and Kasumi. Those who want to add four more fighters--Hitomi, Tina, Bass, and Jann Lee--need to fork over $4.99.
What's even more interesting is players using the free version can still go head-to-head with players who opted for the paid version. This pretty much gives you some insight on the similarities between the two versions. However, paid fighters will have a more comprehensive roster in their favour.
'GTA: San Andreas' Confirmed For Xbox 360
Hot on the heels of Xbox One game and price cut announcements, Xbox 360 players will not be left behind as the rumoured "GTA: San Andreas" re-release has already been confirmed. Major Nelson has announced this via his blog.
IGN has also listed the revealed achievements coming with the new "GTA: San Andreas" for Xbox 360. Some of these include completing a BMX or NRG challenge, mastering modes like the Vigilante, Paramedic Firefighter and Taxi Modes and even Watching Credits to the end.
