Xbox One at E3 2014: The Many Games Coming on Xbox One and PC Driver Compatibility Out
The Xbox One is looking forward to a grand lineup of upcoming games, unveiled by Microsoft during the press briefing. It seems the Xbox One has come a long way from its reveal during last year's E3 2013,
"We are committed to delivering amazing experiences that will help define this generation of games and delight the millions of passionate Xbox fans around the world," said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, over at the Xbox Wire.
"Xbox will be the only place you can enjoy the most-anticipated blockbusters and new franchises, including exclusives like 'Sunset Overdrive,' 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection,' 'Forza Horizon 2,' and 'Dance Central Spotlight.' In addition, on Xbox One gamers will be able to play upcoming hits like 'Destiny,' 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,' 'Assassin's Creed Unity' and a vibrant catalog of games from independent developers," Spenser added.
Part of the Microsoft stage includes Xbox exclusives for "Assassin's Creed Unity," "Evolve," "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare."
The awaited gameplay for "Forza Horizon 2" has also received a new gameplay trailer and a release date of Sept 30 for the Xbox One. Gamingbolt adds there will be 200 more cars, dramatic weather and day-to-night cycles, a full 16-mi combined circuit and a seamless multiplayer, which are all ready for pre-order today.
The "Tomb Raider" franchise will also have an exclusive on the Xbox platform coming in 2015. Called "Rise of the Tomb Raider," this new title will see Lara Croft molded into a true fighter and survivor, who uses her wits and skills to become the Tomb Raider. According to Xbox Wire, there will be multiple locations all over the world and tombs for a more "Survival-Action style," all from Crystal Dynamics.
Apart from games, Microsoft has also announced the 225 entertainment apps that will become available by the end of the year, expanding the entertainment factor of the Xbox One.
PC Drivers for the Xbox One for Better Gaming Experience
For Xbox One gamers who want to continue their practice from back when using the Xbox 360, the new PC drivers for the Xbox One are already out for download. This means gamers can easily play PC games they like without giving up the Xbox One.
"We know our fans have wanted PC compatibility, and we know they wanted to be able to use the Xbox One controller with the same games and applications they have been playing with using the Xbox 360 controller," said Major Nelson over at the Xbox Wire.
"The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller. Simply download the drivers, connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable and you'll be gaming in no time," Major Nelson added.
The release date for this is planned alongside the Windows update, though there is an early access for the feature already out.
