Xbox One vs. PS4 Updates: Hitman Detailed, Dark Souls 2 Possible for Next-gen; Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Delayed
Hitman fans gather around--there's a lot of progress with the next game for the franchise, and developer Io-Interactive has already confirmed that a new game is in the pipeline.
Over at the official Hitman web site, an open letter to fans was written by the developer to update fans on what has been happening with the next game. one thing to note is that the developers have gone deep into creating the game, and already have some details to share:
- The next HItman will let you be a "globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career," and you'll be stalking your prey all over the world along with handler Diana Burnwood and the ICA.
- Tools will be the main attraction for the next game, as there will be a wide range of tools to take out a lot of different targets in various locations all over the globe.
- The game will make use of Glacier 2 engine, while taking inspiration from past titles, so expect high-level details in the game.
- Contract mode is making a comeback, so you can build challenges in the game and sharing them with your friends, perhaps another off-shoot of the non-linear design approach to the game.
- The 47's magic pockets are gone.
"At Io-Interactive right now, we are building the next AAA Hitman game for PC and next-gen consoles. As we get further into 2014, we will reveal more and get into much closer contact with all of you. There are so many things we have planned and we are extremely excited for the future of Hitman," said the Io-Interactive Team.
