Xbox One Windows 10 app adds Facebook friends, Share features; New Xbox One Experience testers get Ninja Cat

The biggest update to date, dubbed as the New Xbox One Experience that came out this November, is already available for all Xbox One users to enjoy. Those who have the Xbox app can also look forward to an update that has recently stepped out of beta.

Microsoft has now released update for the Xbox app, which will be useful for fans who have the Windows 10 on PC or other smart devices. Additional features are geared to enhance the social experience via the Xbox app. The highlighted feature in the Xbox app is the Facebook friend finder, dubbed as one of the most requested additions to the Xbox app.

Detailed over the Xbox Wire, this feature will bring together the Xbox Live and Facebook, so that it will become easier to find people and play games together. The new Facebook finder will include Suggested Friends are, which gives a list of suggested friends on Facebook that can be added on to the Xbox Live. To make use of this feature, Xbox One owners should simply click on the Facebook icon so it will be linked to the Facebook account.

Gaming features have also been enhanced in the newest update. Users can now record their own voiceovers in Game DVR clips using the PC. This can be done by plugging a headset with mic and using the Windows 10 game clips to do a voiceover. This a good complementary feature for the other new feature, which allows recording gaming clips and capturing game screenshots for all games, even PC.

Finally, one last updated section is the Xbox Store. The Xbox app update now allows the store section in the app to launch the Xbox Store, so players can browse through titles and related content using the app. Players can now also redeem Games with Gold titles or take advantage of the discounts offered for Deals with Gold using the app.

Recently, Microsoft has also mentioned that it will be rewarding participants of the New Xbox One Experience preview program. This new reward has not been revealed to be a Ninja Cat prop to match their avatars.

Windows Central has a screenshot of the Ninja Cat side-by-side with an avatar. Eligible New Xbox One Experience preview beta testers should have received a message containing the promo code. This can be accessed either via the Xbox app or the next time that the player boots the Xbox One. The code can be redeemed to get the Ninja Cat.
