Xiaomi has started teasing the launch of two new smartphones at an event scheduled on Nov. 11. The image says “Mi Dual 11”, thus indicating the possibility of unveiling dual handsets on Wednesday.

Xiaomi posted the image on its Weibo account, confirming the launch of two smartphones. Going by the persisting rumours and leaks, Xiaomi is expected to unveil Mi5 and the Redmi Note 2 Pro, reports NDTV Gadgets.

Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to be shipped with the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset instead of MediaTek’s deca-core Helio X20 SoC. Built on 14 nm FinFET technology, Qualcomm’s new chip is said to be 35 percent faster and 30 percent more power efficient than its predecessor.

The flagship device is also said to sport a massive 4 GB of RAM, a 3030 mAh battery and a Type-C USB 1.0 reversible connector port. Xiaomi has allegedly patented a technology similar to that of Apple’s Force Touch, according to a report in Phone Arena. The Mi5 may also incorporate Sense ID, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensing technology by Qualcomm.

The other contender, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro, has also been long awaited and speculated over the past few weeks. Various leaks suggested the Xiaomi all-metal Redmi Note 2 Pro will house a fingerprint scanner at its back below the camera unit.

The Redmi Note 2 Pro is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 13 MP rear camera along with 5 MP front shooter. The smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek MT6795 SoC that includes an octa-core 2.2GHz CPU and PowerVR G6200 GPU, paired with 2 GB of RAM. The handset will come packed with 32 GB native storage that can be further expanded via microSD card slot.
