Design and Display
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 measures 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm and weighs 164 grams. The midrange smartphone comes with a full-metallic chassis and colour variants like silver, gray and gold.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3's dimensions are 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and 144 grams. Even though it is a budget phone from the company, it also sports a full-metal design and comes in three colours - gold, gray, and silver.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a phablet device supporting full HD resolution IPS LCD screen at 5.5-inches. On the other hand, the Redmi 3 is fitted with a 5-inch IPS LCD HD display.
Chipset, RAM and Storage
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is powered by MediaTek Helio x10 chipset that features a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. The handset is available in two storage editions. The 16 GB model features 2 GB of RAM and the 32 GB model comes with 3 GB of RAM. There is no microSD card slot on the device.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 has a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 616 chipset under its hood coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The native storage provided on the smartphone is of 16 GB. The memory card slot of the device supports up to 128 GB of microSD card.
Camera and Software
Both smartphones feature 13MP rear cameras. The Redmi Note 3 has a f/2.2 aperture lens along with dual-LED flash and the Redmi 3 has a f/2.0 aperture lens and single LED flash for their back cameras. Both cameras also support phase detection autofocus feature.
The Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3 also feature 5 MP front-facing cameras. The Android Lollipop on both the devices are modified by Xiaomi’s MIUI 7.0 UI. The Redmi 3 Note comes with a fingerprint scanner, a feature that is absent on the Redmi 3 smartphone. Both are dual-SIM smartphones that come with usual connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, 4G, 3G, v4.1 Bluetooth and aGPS.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 and Redmi 3 are packed with respective batteries of 4100 mAh and 4000 mAh capacities. The 16 GB and 32 GB storage options of Redmi Note 3 are priced at CNY 899 and CNY 1099. The Redmi 3 carries a lower price tag of CNY 599, Android Authority reported.
