Aaron Rodgers won his second National Football League Most Valuable Player (NFL MVP) award on Saturday beating other MVP candidates like J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans and Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys. The star quarterback was also the NFL MVP in 2011.

Rodgers had worst stats than his first MVP season but had another great year leading the league in touchdown-to-interception ratio, 38 TD to 5 INT, finished the season second in passer rating, 112.2, second in yards per attempt, at 8.43 and and third in total touchdown passes in the regular season. Led by Rodgers, the Packers were finished the regular season with a 12-4 win-loss record winning the NFC North title to make the playoffs.

"I feel so fortunate to live out my dreams, year after year," Rodgers said to ESPN.com after receiving the MVP award. “So much has to come together for this to happen. It was a tough year injury-wise. I had the unathletic hamstring and calf pulls, and just dealing with those. My training staff and my acupuncturist and my massage therapist deserve a lot of credit for getting me back on the field. It was a tough grind to get through it, but that's what we do as players.”

In the postseason, Rodgers’ Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys, 26-21 in the divisional playoffs but lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 28-22 in overtime in the conference championship. If not for a late-game collapse by the team, Rodgers and the Packers would have been playing in the Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots.

"J.J. had an incredible year," Rodgers, who is a one-time Super Bowl MVP winner and Super Bowl champion in 2011, added. "He scored three offensive touchdowns, two defensive touchdowns, had 20 sacks, and then Tony had an incredible year as well. It was a great year for the NFL, and I'm proud to receive the award."

Rodgers had a total of 31 MVP votes dominating other contenders like NFL Defensive Player of the Year Watt, who had 13 votes and Cowboys QB Romo, who had 2 votes. Others who got votes were running back DeMarco Murray of the Dallas Cowboys with 2 votes, QB Tom Brady of the New England Patriots with 1 vote and linebacker Bobby Wagner of the Seattle Seahawks also with 1 vote.
