Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For HTC One M8 And HTC One M7

Phone Arena says, AT&T customers with the HTC One M8 received their Android 4.4.4 KitKat update along with HD Voice support and HTC EYE Experience camera update sometime in January 2015. Meanwhile, during the HTC Uh-oh protection webcast, Jason Mackenzie, HTC Americas president, has reportedly answered several questions in the form of tweets from the HTC device owners. One such owner reportedly asked when the AT&T version of the HTC One M8 and the One M7 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

Mackenzie was reportedly quick to acknowledge that he was not quite impressed with the postponement of the software update to AT&T customers. However, he was quick to tie the delay to AT&T’s recent changes to its network. In addition, AT&T apparently wanted HTC to make several alterations with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

In any case, Mackenzie has not provided a specific release date of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to AT&T’s HTC One M8 and HTC One M7. But then, he has apparently confirmed that the software update is in certification phase and therefore, the next step will be to release the update towards the end of March. On the other hand, Verizon has reportedly upgraded the HTC One M8 to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update during the start of March.

Speaking of features, this software update reportedly brings in the new Material Design to the device. In addition, the update also includes the 64-bit ART compiler for faster app opening and increased battery life via Project Volta. Other changes include a new lock screen notification, a brand new Recent Apps page, along with the added ability to open the Quick Settings menu from any screen on the handset, among others, notes the same site.

However, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for LG L90 (dual-SIM variant) has been confirmed. Apparently, India is the first market to get this update. And LG will reportedly expand the availability to other regions and other devices like the LG G2 Mini as well, notes GSM Arena.
