Apps to Track Children During Trick-or-Treat Night
Smartphone apps are here to lend a hand to parents tracking their children while they go trick or treating during Halloween night.
Halloween is already knocking on our doors. Soon, children will, too. Parents may not be able to constantly watch their children during the annual event.
A worry-free solution is downloading apps that are available for free at the Apple Store and Android Market. Some smartphones are already equipped with GPS features that are quite helpful to people in navigating around the place. Parents can use this feature to track their children during Halloween night.
Here are some of the apps you can buy or download for free:
Lookout Mobile Security – This is a free app that is available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 includes a “Missing Device” feature that can locate one’s smartphone through on online map. This app is user friendly and parents just need to make sure that the app is downloaded, installed and is working on their child’s phone. Whenever they want to know their whereabouts, they can log onto www.mylookout.com (either on their PC or a smartphone) to track their children on an online map.
Google Latitude - A free app that allows users of the Latitude app to share their location with others. You can also find other people who shared location on google map.
Trick or Tracker - This Halloween app is not for free but it allows users to send text messages with location information to a preset phone number. The app must be downloaded on both the parent’s and child’s phone and have one password to sync up the phones.
Footprints - This app is also not for free which can be used on iPhone and iPad. This app tracks locations in the background of one’s phone and shares where you are with others.
Where’s My iPhone – This app works on iDevices. Download and sync in your iPhone, iPod and iPad and you can see the location of each of the device. If you kid brings an iPhone or iPod with them, you can easily track him or her in your iPad or Mac.
