Fans of the franchise who are eagerly waiting to see a post credit scene of Thanos in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” may be disappointed. Joss Whedon, the director, has confirmed in a new report that the upcoming movie will not feature a post credits scene.

The first “Avengers” movie introduced Thanos as a future villain in a post credit scene and the movie also had a humorous scene towards the end where all the heroes go to a Shawarma restaurant to eat, because they were very hungry after the big fight. Joss Whedon spoke to EntertainmentWeekly about how the upcoming movie will not feature such scenes towards the end.

Joss Whedon explained that he was sharing this information because many of the fans tend to sit through the credits, expecting a post credits scene, and the director didn’t want the fans to feel disappointed. He also wanted to make sure that “Avengers: Age of Ultron” didn’t hit the “same highs” as the previous movie because he felt that the audience would “sense it.”

Some of the readers may be expecting to see Thanos in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” since Marvel has a history of setting up future movies by introducing new characters and plot elements in its movies. Thanos is the main villain that the heroes will have to face in the 2018 “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1.”

Previous Marvel movies have been slowly building the plot for the 2018 movies. Some of the movies have already featured a few Infinity Stones that will be a part of the Infinity Gauntlet that Thanos will wield in the 2018 “Avengers” movie.

Joe and Anthony Russo have been confirmed as directors for “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2.” The announcement was made on the official website of Marvel. Fans of the franchise may know the two directors for their work in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The two directors are currently preparing to film the highly anticipated “Captain America: Civil War.”

Although “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will not feature a post credit scene, Joss Whedon did tease that there will be a few “surprises” within the movie. The director said that rumours about Captain Marvel being introduced in the movie are false, but didn’t talk about the role of Thanos in the movie, leaving room for the character’s brief appearance in the movie.
