The “Arkham” games have a history of including playable characters from within Batman’s universe. Previous games have let gamers play characters like Catwoman, The Joker and Robin. A new retail listing for “Batman: Arkham Knight” indicates gamers will get the chance to take control of the Joker’s insane sidekick, Harley Quinn. [Warning: Potential Spoilers Alert!]

“For the first time in the Arkham series, take on the role of Joker’s psychotic sidekick Harley Quinn and wreak havoc inside the Blüdhaven Police Department. With this exclusive Story Pack, experience events in the lead-up to Arkham Knight as you infiltrate Blüdhaven to rescue your partner in crime: Poison Ivy,” reads the Amazon listing.

As noted by IGN, the DLC appears to be an Amazon pre-order exclusive. The listing also promises gamers will get to use Harley’s signature baseball bat in combat as she smashes, crashes and bashes her way through foes to find her pal, Poison Ivy.

The reveal of new DLC characters points to the impending release of “Batman: Arkham Knight,” which was originally scheduled for release in late 2014. Speaking with Eurogamer, developer Rocksteady stated the game was pushed back in order to give the development team time to polish the title and ensure a level of quality that met their internal standards.

As previously reported, “Arkham Knight” features a map five times the size of the one found in “Batman: Arkham City.” The developers promise an unprecedented level of detail as well as an increased emphasis on verticality in the game. Batman’s arsenal has been upgraded and expanded with the addition of The Batmobile, which is playable in the series for the first time.

A new CG TV ad hosted on the GamesHQMedia YouTube channel gives gamers a rapid-fire sample of the kind of action they can expect from Rocksteady’s magnum opus. “Batman: Arkham Knight” will be released on June 2 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
