It’s been widely speculated that Captain America will die in “Civil War,” if the movie adaptation was to follow the comic book’s storyline. However, according to a recent report, Cap may not die after all in the sequel. Instead, another Avenger, Hawkeye could die considering his near-death-experience in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” [Spoiler Alert]

Cinema Blend has come up with a list of possible Marvel characters who could end up dead in “Captain America: Civil War.” Cap is among them but there’s reportedly also a chance that Hawkeye will die too. Hawkeye’s return in “Civil War” “could be fatal for him,” writer Adam Holmes said. “There will be an incident involving the Avengers that leads to the Superhuman Registration Act being passed,” he added.

It’s supposedly during this incident that Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) could meet his demise. He could be killed in action and his death would ultimately cause a rift between the team.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” had supposedly hinted Hawkeye’s death. He was meant to die while he was rescuing a boy but instead, Quicksilver died when he shielded Hawkeye from the enemy’s oncoming bullets.

“Captain America: Civil War” will see the team divide due to the Superhuman Registration Act. Steve Rogers and Tony Stark will each be leading a team of superheroes. According to Yahoo Movies UK, Hawkeye is likely going to side with Steve Rogers considering the latter is against the Superhuman Registration Act. Hawkeye’s decision to be on Cap’s side reportedly boils down to one reason and that’s because of his family.

In “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” fans learned that Hawkeye already has a family, to the surprise of his fellow Avengers. Only Nick Fury knew about it and has kept his family’s identity a secret all this time. So it would supposedly make sense that Hawkeye side with Cap to keep his family safe and their identity remain a secret.

However, according to Screenrant, Hawkeye is expected to return to the two-part film “The Avengers: Infinity War.” So it would be unlikely that the hero will meet his death in “Captain America: Civil War.”
