JoBlo shared a spoiler-rich report concerning Frank Grillo’s role as Crossbones in “Captain America: Civil War.” Sources told writer Paul Shirley that in the MCU version of the comic book story, “Instead of the New Warriors being the catalyst for the Superhero Registration Act, it will be Crossbones (in costume) who will be the catalyst that kicks off the film.” The latter will reportedly be responsible for all the attacks “that cause much death and destruction, causing the government to step in and put out the Superhero Registration Act.”
Frank Grillo once revealed during an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Crossbones will be very different in the sequel. He said what viewers saw of his character in “Captain America: Winter Soldier” is “just a taste of what’s to come.” His character in the sequel will reportedly be more “vicious” since this time there will be “no holds barred” for Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones in “Captain America: Civil War.”
Crossbones will reportedly be “messier” in “Captain America: Civil War.” According to JoBlo’s sources, Frank Grillo will finally wear the villain’s iconic skull mask in the film along with his character's suit, which has been described as "graffiti-esque."
Comic Book Resources once said that Bucky Barnes a.k.a. Winter Soldier will be the driving force between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark’s disagreements in “Captain America: Civil War.” However, according to JoBlo’s sources, Steve Roger’s best friend will likely also become a hero in “Civil War.” The latter will reportedly become another “key focus” in the sequel since he will cause the “main rift” between Tony Stark and Captain America. The two heroes will find themselves in disagreements over their opposing ideas about Winter Soldier becoming a potential hero since he was once a villain.
