The events following “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will reportedly determine the returning heroes and those who will be joining them in “Captain America: Civil War.” With rumours claiming the end of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will mark the birth of a new team of Avengers, fans should expect to see cameo appearances of new Marvel characters in the next film, "Captain America: Civil War" during its theatrical release on May 6, 2016.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” will ultimately see the Avengers team disband. As is the case with the comics, the Superhuman Registration Act will eventually cause the team to separate into two factions to side between Iron Man and Captain America. This change in turn will lead to a battle between the two former allies. However, despite this Bleeding Cool speculated that “Captain America: Civil War” will see the return of Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye and will introduce Black Panther to the scene. The site further added that “Civil War” will also bring back Scarlet Witch, Hulk, Thor, War Machine and introduce new characters Wasp and a fourteen-year old Peter Parker as the new Spider-Man.

Along with Spider-Man, who has previously been confirmed to make his introduction in “Captain America: Civil War” before his debut film, Scarlet Witch will supposedly also make a cameo appearance in the sequel. It’s believed that by the end of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” she may already be an Avenger. So she’s expected to star alongside other returning characters War Machine, Captain America and Winter Soldier.

As for Wasp having a cameo appearance, Badass Digest contested that perhaps the character will indeed appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe although it’s uncertain if it would be in “Civil War.” According to writer Devin Faraci, the film is only listing down a lot of character names for cameos as “Civil War” has been previously called as the Avengers 2.5.

However, Faraci claimed that Hulk and Thor may not likely return for a cameo appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” Faraci said he’s familiar with a couple of drafts for the film where it clearly shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Rufallo) are out of the sequel. It would reportedly not make any sense for Thor to be back in “Captain America: Civil War” since by this time, Thor has already “returned to Asgard to deal with the events leading up to Thor: Ragnarok.” Hulk is said to be missing from the draft as well along with Thor, since according to Faraci’s sources “they're sitting out Infinity War Part I as well, which means Marvel wants to take them off the shared universe board until they (along with Captain America) return in Part II.”
