Details revealed for 'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' Halloween update
After a number of teases, developer Scott Cawthon has finally decided to unveil some details about the Halloween update for “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4.” Cawthon stated that the Halloween update will add plenty of unlockables and challenges to the horror game, especially for the players who have beaten Night Six of the horror game.
Cawthon was quick to state on a Steam Community page that the Halloween update will not be a paid downloadable content, or DLC. The update will be automatic to those who own the game and it will be free, so no one will have to worry about paying extra for it. There also doesn’t seem to be any DLC planned for the game, though Cawthon has yet to confirm that.
The Halloween update will come with a cheat menu, a twist on a familiar mini-game and a challenge menu. Cawthon also stated that there will be new stars to earn once the update hits the game, so players up for a challenge will have more things to do in “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4.” Oddly enough, the developer did not state which particular mini-game will be given a new twist, so players have to wait until the update hits.
Another interesting thing Cawthon mentioned is the fact that he is working on a new game and it’s not “Five Nights at Freddy’s 5.” He hopes to release a demo for the new game by the time the update comes, or at the least, he will show off some artwork or game concepts.
One thing that surprised Cawthon was the fact that no one seemed to find the Easter Eggs hidden in “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4.” This is an interesting factoid, as most fans of the series try very hard to find the clues in the games and figure out the overall story. Touch Arcade stated that Cawthon might never reveal the true legend behind the “Five Nights” series.
The Halloween update will be available on Oct. 31; however, Cawthon didn’t specify which platform the update will be available in. “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4” is currently available for the PC, along with iOS and Android devices.
