Diablo 3 Gamers Complain Poor Service; Blizzard to Release Offline Mode?
Diablo 3 maker Blizzard Entertainment is currently facing numerous complaints from avid gamers due to game's poor service.
Gamers claimed that the latest installment of Diablo series did not live to the expectations of many. The game is flooded with unstable data connections and repeated error messages while logging in or playing the game.
Korean users, game cafe operators and regulators made their move by calling Blizzard and demanded refunds while other groups said they will pursue legal action. Korea's Fair Trade Commission, the nation's anti-trust watchdog, said that it will come up with aid measures for Diablo 3 users by next month after conducting an investigation of Blizzard and its refund policy. The FTC aims to conclude its investigation within two months after the game's launch last May.
According to reports, gaming mogul Blizzard will also announce a set of solutions to help relieve consumers' dissatisfaction soon.
However, Diablo 3 problems do not only exists in Korea. French regulators have also received thousands of consumer complaints and demanded that the US game developer amend its errors in 15 days. Some gamers are also asking for compensation as well.
On the other hand, German regulators are reportedly looking into a possible antitrust violation by Blizzard along with consumer complaints over the game's poor server system.
One of the possible solutions is the release of an offline mode of the game. It was done sbefore in games like Diablo and Diablo II. We know you can allow gamers to experience the $60 product they paid for without the debilitating bugs, glitches and exploits attached to an always-on environment.
In a statement, Blizzard's CEO Mike Morhaime said, "We're definitely thrilled that so many people around the world were excited to pick up their copy of Diablo III and jump in the moment it went live. We also regret that our preparations were not enough to ensure everyone had a seamless experience when they did so. I want to reaffirm our commitment to make sure the millions of Diablo III players out there have a great experience with the game moving forward, and I also want to thank them for their ongoing support."
