Popular PC-exclusive game Diablo 3 will be coming to game consoles this year, according to different European retailers.

Danish retailer Coolshop.DK has the title listed for release on both consoles while German website Redcoon.de listed a PlayStation 3 exclusive version of Diablo 3. Redcoon emphasized that the PS3 release "will benefit from Battle.net upgrades that will provide some exciting new features for the player."

Avid gamers and owners of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 may be ecstatic upon hearing this news. October 2011, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that its developers are working for the console version of the hit RPG game.

A month before the release of Diablo 3, senior world designer Leonard Boyarski said that Blizzard is still exploring the possibility of a console release but did not confirm any plans or concrete release date of the rumored version.

Blizzard COO Paul Sams seconded this with his own statement that Blizzard is unafraid of developing the game in various platforms.

"We think that the way we built it for the PC may need some tweaking, but it will ultimately be the type of game that can really make sense and be really fun, well-polished and a true Blizzard-level experience on a console," Sams said when asked about the potential console version of the game.

Diablo 3 director and senior game developer Jay Wilson and lead designer Josh Mosquiera also said that Blizzard invested a lot in console development.

It was 12 years since Diablo 2 came out and loyal fans finally get their hands on to the latest Diablo game. Its release cause commotion and the game sold millions of copies hours after its release. However, excited gamers were greeted by error messages and crashed servers due to the overwhelming demand and login traffic. Developers at Blizzard quickly resolved the problem with overloaded and crashed servers for the new Diablo 3 was fixed and gamers may now reenter "hell".

The wicked and evil video game was launched early this year as a PC-exclusive game. However, Blizzard did not release an official statement yet of the release of the game console version of Diablo 3.
