The free beta version of “Star Wars Battlefront” is currently available to anyone thus players are now getting a taste of what to expect from it, ahead of the game’s release next month. The game is receiving positive reviews in general but there are still a few issues to watch for, one of which has been addressed by its Swedish developer, DICE, recently.

DICE has been on the receiving end of some technical perfomance issues for “Star Wars Battlefront.” Apparently, fans were not pleased with the game’s frame rate and resolution. Both components are expected to pass a certain standard, especially with the first person shooter genre so that players are provided with a smooth experience.

DICE’s technical director Johan Andersson recently spoke up about the issue while responding to a fan's Tweet. He notes that the upcoming sci-fi shooter will focus on providing a better frame rate over resolution so that players are given the best overall experience of “Star Wars Battlefront.”

"Frame rate and fidelity is indeed king; don't want to sacrifice it for resolution. But a choice each game team does," said Andersson.

Fans were critical about the resolution on the console versions of the game. It runs at 900p on the PlayStation 4 and 720p on the Xbox One, as opposed to the fan's expectations of a full 1080p experience.

DICE hasn’t released an official statement regarding Andersson's comments and whether or not they plan on changing the frame rate before launch. But since the game is still in the beta period, DICE could adhere to the request of fans.

The beta period for “Star Wars Battlefront” started on Oct. 8 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It was initially slated to end on Oct. 12 but was extended by one more day, Dual Shockers report.

“Star Wars Battlefront” launches on Nov. 17. The game will be made available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
