Fans reimagine 'Final Fantasy 7' into a completely different game
Square Enix made headlines last E3 by unveiling a “Final Fantasy 7” remake to the public and it’s gearing up to be one of the most anticipated games to date. However, the road to the remake is long so fans did their own iteration of one of the most popular titles in the series.
The game is named simply as “”Final Fantasy 7 Re-Imagined” and as the name suggests, it is a completely different take on the classic. The one-level demo is playable in Unity and according to the official website is a “non-profit project, done purely for fun.” Those who want to try the demo can download a Windows PC executable from its official website. Although the developer has insisted that the game will not be used for profit, Square Enix might still call for the project to be taken down. Just last month, Square Enix called for the cancellation of a fan-made translation of “Dragon Quest 7” for the Nintendo 3DS. Square Enix might be a little protective of the video-games, so calling a stop to the “Final Fantasy 7 Re-Imagined” project may not come as a shock to the gaming community.
