Tutorial Shown For ‘Dissidia Final Fantasy’
With Square Enix and Team Ninja finally giving fans in Japan a chance to try out the highly anticipated “Dissidia Final Fantasy” through some location testing, the company has released a “Dissidia Final Fantasy” tutorial video to help people who haven’t played the PSP version. This way fans will be able to understand how the game plays before they try it out, instead of them just randomly mashing buttons to see what happens.
For those unfamiliar with the term “location test,” Siliconera has described it as essentially an open beta testing, similar to the ones done in the West, like the upcoming “Street Fighter V” and multiple online games. This is done so that developers can get feedback on what is good in the game and what has to be fixed before it’s officially released.
As for the video, the tutorial starts with a look at the arcade controls, which look very similar to a PlayStation controller. The right part of the controller has the traditional PlayStation setup, with the four main buttons using shapes, an analog stick for camera movements and two shoulder buttons, while the left part of the controller has the left analog stick for movement, directional buttons and two shoulder buttons.
The "Dissidia" location test also lets players choose between six of the characters that have been revealed so far. This includes Cloud Strife from “Final Fantasy 7,” Warrior of Light from “Final Fantasy,” Onion Knight from “Final Fantasy 3,” Lightning from the “Final Fantasy 13” trilogy, Terra from “Final Fantasy 6” and Y’shtola from the “Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn” online game.
Now for the controls of the game, which bears similarities to its PSP predecessors. Players will still be able to double jump, dash, run on walls and even unleash special attacks. The differences this time are the fact that most of the fights are team fights now, so players must simultaneously switch between all the enemies to take them down. The arcade version also has a special button for summoning.
The rest of the video can be seen below, where fans excited for the game can watch it’s beautiful graphics, while also learning the controls of the game. Gematsu reports that the location test starts today, so fans can expect some gameplay videos to come out of it soon.
