Galaxy S5 Release Date: March 2014 With Both Plastic And Metal Variants As Fresh Features
Rumors about the next generation Galaxy S flagship have flooded the Internet and a recent claim reiterates that the Galaxy S5 will feature both plastic and metal variants.
An insider allegedly confirmed several details about the Galaxy S5, helping paint a clearing view of what to expect with the next generation Galaxy S smartphone, according to SamMobile.
Sifting through the vast rumors about the Galaxy S5, the insider reported the Galaxy S5 will come in both plastic and metal variants but it is not clear whether the metal version will go by a different name like the previously rumored Galaxy F.
Plastic Samsung Galaxy S5
The plastic version will be cheaper and priced around $877. The smartphone might feature a similar Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU in LTE and 3G variants in the newest Snapdragon 805. The Snapdragon 805 is not expected to arrive in handsets until May but it is not crazy to assume that Samsung will be among the first to have the bleeding-edge chip. The Galaxy S5 is expected to sport an AMOLED display with an impressive 2,560 x 1,440 resolution but the source did not confirm the screen size. Rumors said the screen will be around 5.25 inches and the camera will be 16 MP sensor, which is similar to the Galaxy S4.
Metal Samsung Galaxy S5
The metal version is expected to pack a 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU that can run all eight cores at once. Also, the metal Galaxy S5 also known as the Galaxy F is expected to have a premium price of around $1,092. The rest of the specs and features will be similar to the plastic version of the smartphone, which includes Android KitKat OS, 16MP sensor rear camera and 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display.
Galaxy S5 Release Date
Although there is no guarantee that we will see both metallic and plastic variants of the Galaxy S5, it has been reported by an Italian journalist that it will be launched at an event in March in London. The event is expected to take place after the MWC and given that Samsung hasn't released any Galaxy S device at MWC for quite some time, the separate launch event makes sense.
