A look at the features of the two handsets might help you decide.
Design
The Nexus 5X has a plastic body that feels smooth to the touch while the Nexus 6P boasts of metal-build that looks a lot classier than the 5X. Some may argue the 5X has a compact size and is much lighter but the 6P offers more quality than expected.
Display
Nexus 5X’s 5.2-inch display screen packed with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution with 423ppi offers stunning picture quality. The Nexus 6P, on the other hand, presents maximum pixel quality at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 at 515ppi on its 5.7-inch display screen.
Cameras
A 12.3MP rear camera is present on both phones, as are dual-flash and IR laser-assisted autofocus. The good news is both cameras sport large pixels and offer increased performance in low light, thus delivering seamless picture quality.
Hardware
The 5X incorporates a hexa-core Snapdragon 808, Adreno 418 graphics powered by 2 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Nexus 6P’s powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 chip, an Adreno 430 graphics along with 3 GB of RAM.
Both are purely Android but the Nexus 6P is a more potent device. As for battery power, the 5X has a 2700mAH battery while the 6P’s powered by 3540mah battery, reports Pocket-lint.
Price
The Nexus 5X’s might be a more preferable choice given its £339 (AU$710.75) price tag for the16 GB model and £379 (AU$794.61) for the 32 GB model against £449 (AU$941.38) for the Nexus 6P 16 GB model and £579 (AU$1213.94) for the 32 GB model.
If quality matters over price, then the 6P is the right choice. Otherwise, opt for the 5X for an affordable deal this Christmas.
