'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2': Chris Pratt Talks Star Lord's Dad, Teases An Emotional Sequel
Chris Pratt recently talked about his reaction when James Gunn had shared his “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” pitch with him for the first time. The actor talked about the identity of Star Lord’s father and teased how the sequel’s story would be emotional.
Chris Pratt revealed that he got very emotional about “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” during an interview with Digital Spy about his upcoming film “Jurassic World.” According to the site, the actor was brought to tears hearing James Gunn give his pitch about the sequel’s story.
“I will say that his (James Gunn) pitch and his idea legitimately put tears in my eyes,” Chris Pratt said. “It is so good and I cannot wait to get started on it and I cannot wait for people to see what he’s ‘gonna pull off with this second movie,” he added.
According to the actor, who will reprise his role as Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” James Gunn’s pitch was also heard by other people at Marvel who applauded the director for having the “perfect” idea” for a sequel. “They just love it so much that they don’t really have a note for it,” Pratt further said. The actor declined to reveal any more details but assured that “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” is going to be so big and so good.
“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will finally reveal Star Lord’s father, who left Earth before Peter Quill was born. During the same interview with Collider, Chris Pratt also confirmed that Star Lord’s father will finally be introduced in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” When asked whether he knows the identity of Peter Quill’s dad, the actor said he already knows everything. However, Pratt declined to share any more details.
According to Comic Book, James Gunn himself likewise confirmed this plot in the sequel on his Facebook page after one fan asked for confirmation. However, who that character is and how he connects to the film franchise remains to be seen. The name of the actor portraying the character has yet to be revealed as well.
