The iPad is undoubtedly a great device to watch movies and TV series. Here is a guide to help you watch movies and series on the iPad by renting, buying or streaming with apps.

How much does it cost to watch movies?

Typically, rental charges range from 99 cents to $7.99 with an average HD rental price at $4.99. However, independent movies and films that arrive early ordinarily come with a heftier price tag. Usually, Hollywood blockbusters can cost up to $5.99 for HD rental for the first few weeks of the release.

On the other hand, purchasing an iPad movie can cost $10 to $20 but in some occasions prices might go lower.

How to rent a movie?

Renting directly on the iPad is the most convenient way to rent movies but it is possible to transfer a movie that you rented from your computer to your iPad.

Basically, you need an Internet connection to rent and download a movie, which should be a 4G LTE connection built-in to the iPad or a hotspot.

1- Go to iTunes.

2 - Go to movies located at the bottom of the screen > Browse for movies of your choice. You can download as many as you want but that will be limited on the space that you have.

3 - After selecting the movie of your choice, you can watch trailers, read about the plot and see reviews. At the right, you can see an option between SD and HD versions which adjust the price. Choose Rent to rent the movie that you like.

4 - Tap once on Rent and you will see a text saying "Rent Movie" > Tap again and enter iTunes password.

After the last step aforementioned, the download process will begin. You will see the movie downloading and the estimated time to download the entire movie in the downloads section of the iTunes.

When a small portion of the movie has completed downloading, you can already start watching it by leaving the iTunes > Videos app > Choose the movie that you want > Play. If the movie needs to download some more, the Play icon will not work.
