iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Should You Get Samsung Or Wait For Apple?
The Galaxy Note 3 is only a few months old and this will continue to compete with the iPhone 5s for months. It will remain in the shelves even after the release of the next generation iPhone in 2014. Here is an early look to the iPhone 6 vs. the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to see how the latter will stack up against the much anticipated iPhone 6.
Release Date
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been out in the market for a couple of months. It is expected to remain available for many more months to come. It is likely to be replaced by the Galaxy Note 4 during the fall, according to Got To Be Mobile. Samsung is known to have a Berlin-based IFA trade show to launch its devices and there is no reason to believe otherwise at the time being.
When the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 arrives, the Galaxy Note 3 will probably have a price drop and it will be a budget option already. As such, the Galaxy Note 3 will be a viable competitor to any iPhone that Apple will release next year.
The iPhone 6 is set to arrive either in summer or fall next year. If the Galaxy S5 comes with a premium design and a QHD screen, it will be an added pressure to Apple. But the Cupertino tech giant is not known to rush its devices into the battle.
As of the moment, there are two possible launch dates of the iPhone 6, this summer at the WWDC alongside the iOS 8 or a launch similar to the iPhone 5 and 5s in the fall.
Design
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 used a different style with its plastic but leather-looking design. It is quite different with other Galaxy devices as Samsung is known to have plastic designs. This move proves that the company is willing to change its devices around.
In addition to the changes made to the back plate of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, it is notably made slimmer. Although it is relatively bigger than any other phablets, it is already 8.3 mm thin, which is much slimmer than the Galaxy Note 2.
The iPhone 6, most probably will be as slim, if not slimmer than the Galaxy Note 3. It is expected to weigh much less as Apple is known to keep its iPhones pocketable and usable with one hand.
Display
One of the bragging points of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the massive 5.7 inches display. Its screen is arguably one of the best displays in the business, which checks in at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 386 ppi. Everything looks great with this impressive screen.
Rumors suggest that iPhone 6 will have a bigger screen, which is around 4.5 inches to 5 inches display. According to the NPD DisplaySearch, which predicted the Retina Display of the iPad 3, Apple is currently working on two different screen sizes - 4.7 inches 1280 x 720 and 5.7 inches 1920 x 1080 display. Also, Ming Chi Kuo, an analyst of the revered KGI Securities, believes that Apple is cooking an iPhone 6 with 4.5 inches to 5 inches display in 2014.
