The HTC One smartphone was initially unveiled with the two colour options of black and silver followed with the addition of the red and blue variants. Now, Taiwanese company HTC officially announced another colour choice for the consumers: the HTC One Gold Edition.

Images of the gold HTC One were leaked online that shows the front and back frame of the new smartphone model. Handset information Web site GSMArena spotted the HTC One Gold Edition and reported that Gold Genie, a company known for plating gold on devices, custom-manufactured the 24-carat gold on the smartphone's design.

More colour options for the HTC One smartphone are expected to arrive soon like the HTC One Platinum and HTC One Rose Gold Editions. However, HTC will not officially sell the HTC One Gold Edition handset and consumers can expect a very expensive pricing scheme.

Pre-orders can be placed for those who want to get their hands on the new HTC One Gold Edition and the only available version is the 32GB internal storage capacity. The Geeky Gadgets report claims that this version will have the whopping price of $3015.

Gold Genie will be offering as well the upcoming HTC One Platinum Edition at $3332 price while the HTC One Rose Gold Edition comes with the $3173 price tag. Furthermore, consumers who purchased the HTC One smartphone with new colour option will have a custom-made box that includes smartphone accessories such as the USB power adaptor, the Beats Audio earphones with a remote control and mic, a dock connector and the device's documentation.

The HTC One smartphone features a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 Full HD screen display with 1920x1080p resolution, the power of a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB of RAM. Additional features and specs that the Taiwanese company incorporated in the smartphone are 4MP UltraPixel rear-facing camera with the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature, 1080p video recording capability, a 2300mAh battery, 2.1MP front-facing camera, support for the 4G LTE network and the available non-expandable internal storage capacities of 32GB or 64GB.
