Reports on Samsung and the IFA 2013 have been causing fans to look forward to the event in the hopes of having eying the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that's expected to be revealed on the said date.

However, it seems that Samsung also has to keep a close eye on its closest competitor, HTC, which seems bent on stealing some of the thunder with a potential September release for its HTC One Max.

TechRadar reports that the HTC One Max may even come as early as "early September" while aiming to come close to the rumoured 5.99-inch display of Samsung's upcoming Note device.

The most notable specific date that has emerged among reports comes from Gotta Be Mobile, where a September 5 release date meant for HTC One Max was mentioned. This would be a very tactical event, considering that the IFA 2013 is set for September 6.

HTC One Mini gearing up to battle against Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini?

Not far behind its bigger brother is the HTC One Mini, which has been recently snapped up to show a 4.3-inch HD screen, all decked in black. What's noticeable is that it has pretty similar features to the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, which can put the two at a head-to-head playing field.

Considering that the Galaxy S4 Min was revealed early June, a July release date is now pegged for the HTC One Mini, further fueling the rivalry between the smaller devices, reports Phone Arena.

The HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, will purportedly clash features come September, with the IFA 2013 being a potential battle arena for the two.

As per SlashGear, the bigger question for HTC is whether or not it can come up with a device that can be at par with Samsung's upcoming releases, but rather if its production power can withstand the demand.

Back when the HTC One was released, there have been issues with the production despite the fact that it was a beast of a phone that could have come out on top. Hopefully, the features that may be geared for the upcoming HTC One devices, such as the UltraPixel camera will no longer cause any issues in production.

More evidence for Samsung Galaxy Note 3

The looming battle between HTC's One Max and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 seemed to heighten in light of the previous report, but another piece of evidence crops up to back this possibility.

In particular, the device seems to have been certified in Indonesia, getting the model number SM-N900, reports Geeky-Gadgets.

According to this report, some of the expected features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 include the 5.99-inch Super AMOLED display, but will also come with another Super LCD display variant, depending on the country that it will be released in.

There is also the rumoured quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (for the U.S. and Europe) and the Samsung Exynos 5420 processor for the rest. The device is also expected to come with a 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, and optical image stabilization.
